5th April, Wild Coast, Highport, morning.
The party decide to seek out the healer Feodor. Aurin's notable height is a problem so the elf remains in the cellar. Marcus opts to stay with him. The party heads down a main street lined with temples to human gods. Like the rest of the city most of the temples are in ruins. Some of the more intact structures are occupied to various purposes, taverns, brothels, stores and even converted to temples for humanoid gods. As the group walk the street Tellius and Lucien pick up that the street forms some sort of territorial divide. Although there is a even mix of humans, humanoids (primarily orcs) and half breeds, either side of the the street is populated by a different tribe.
The street runs the length of the city ending in one of the outer wall gates. The area around the gates appears deserted. Tellius inquires passerby's of Feodor the healer. He discovers there are two notable healers in the city and directions to one of them but cannot confirm if either one of them is Feodor. The party follow the directions to one of the healers. One the way they encounter another two individuals crucified at a major street intersection. Tellius, Lucien and Edgaar recognise one of them as a slave they helped free from the Ghoul. The other Tellius recognises as the guard that observed the party escape from the ship. Later the party notice a shop down a side street with the orcish symbol for a healer. It is not the location the stranger described. Fearing the healer is an orc and will have an issue healing an elf the party continue to the other healer. One the way they see a fat merchant being carried by slaves on a palanquin and closely guarded by half a dozen mercenaries.
The party arrive at the other healer's shop. Above the doorway is a sign with the both the human and orc symbols for the profession. Inside what was once a small tavern has been converted into a healers shop. Behind a bar that splits the room is a shady looking human in plain robes. Upon seeing the armed party enter the shop the healer summons a guard from a back room. After confirming the healer is Feodor Tellius and Saab get straight to the point and tell him that his cousin is a slave on the Ghoul. Feodor asks how the party know this. They explain that they have just escaped from the ship. Feodor whispers to the guard who immediately disappears out the back of the shop. Feodor talks with the party asking a few questions but letting them do most of the talking. The party propose to free Feodor's cousin in return for healing Aurin.
A short time later three heavily armed mercenaries arrive at the shop. One guards the entrance while the other two eye the party with hands on sheathed weapons. The guard that earlier disappeared is not amongst them. Feodor visibly relaxes with the arrival of the mercenaries. It is at this time Feodor confesses it is highly unlikely his cousin is on the Ghoul. His relatives live far inland to the North and even if it was one of his cousins he cares not for his fate. Feodor blackmails the party warning that the absent guard has instructions to turn them over to the slavers if they do not do as instructed. Feodor then tells the party they are to assassinate a rival healer named Fek. Surprisingly Feodor offers to heal Aurin explaining that it will increase the chances the party are successful in their assigned task. Feodor tells the party to return to their hiding place where the elf is and he will join them in a couple of hours to heal him. Feodor sends one of his guards along with the party.
The party and mercenary arrive back to the cellar where Aurin and Marcus are hiding. The mercenary then leaves. Left to themselves the party discuss their predicament. Rondo fears the healer will simply turn the party in and votes to flee the city. Others fear the consequences of crossing Feodor and being caught by the slavers before they can escape. It is decided to wait until after Aurin is healed before possibly defying Feodor.
After a nervous wait Feodor appears with two of his guards. He instructs Aurin to drink a potion. Aurin does so. Feodor then casts a spell on Aurin and declares his tongue will be restored within the hour. He explains that the party have until noon tomorrow to complete the mission. When he is satisfied Fek is dead he will give Aurin the antidote to the slow acting poison he has just swallowed! As Feodor and the mercenaries leave he warns them not to defy him. They will be watched.
After Feodor and his mercenaries leave Saab examines Aurin and believes he has a good idea of the type of poison used. There is much debate as to whether they will go ahead and kill Feodor's rival or warn him. They decide to go to the healers shop as a customers to find out more about him. Once again Aurin stays behind. Just outside Fek's shop Tellius and Lucien notice a stranger lurking at a street corner. The stranger makes eye contact and gives a slight nod. Apparently Feodor has made good on his promise to keep an eye on the party.
