Wild Coast, Elredd, Hammer & Anvil inn, Night.
Lucien informs the party that there possessions were disturbed while they were away. The party carefully examine their possessions. Nothing appears to be missing. The party discuss their next move and decide to return to the dock quarter and investigate the sewer system. As they leave the Hammer and Anvil Rondo in his typical guff way tells the innkeeper of the intrusion of their rooms and makes it clear he will hold the innkeeper personally responsible if any of his possessions go missing. Taken aback by Rondo's tone the innkeeper suggests they vacate his establishment. Tellius using his soothing voice and diplomacy to smooth over the situation. The innkeeper swears nothing like that has happened before and vows to keep a close eye on their rooms while they are away. The party leave the inn, and head for the dock quarter.
At the docks the party search for a sewer outlet among the steep rocky slope under the piers. It is not long before they find a circular tunnel made of brick in the rock face. A slow trickle of foul smelling sludge empties from the tunnel into the sea. A few rusty bars extending from the top of the tunnel are all that remain of a iron grill that once blocked the entrance. As they are milling around the entrance in the moonlight discussing how to proceed a city guard challenges them from atop the rocky slope. The party try to bluff an explanation for lurking under the docks. The guard is not impressed and tells them to move on. Grumbling the party move along the waterline away from the docks until they find another sewer entrance similar to the first.
After much discussion Rondo lights a candle and leads the party into the sewers. Second to last Aurin uses his magical art to have light spring from his hand. Tellius enters last. The sewers are a network of bricked tunnel approximately 4 feet in diameter. Slime covers the walls. The party trudge through ankle deep sewage as they explore. At the rear Tellius is struck in the back of his legs and barely keeps his footing in the slippery tunnel. He turns to discover a monstrous snake like creature latched to his legs it's body extending back into the darkness. Luckily his leg armour had for the moment defeated the creatures fangs. Tellius shouts in alarm, draws his sword and prise the jaws of the snake from his leg. The snake slithers off down the tunnel into the darkness.
The party continue forward with Tellius keeping a nervous eye behind him. It is not long before the snake can be seen following the party at a distance. The party make a stand at a junction where Tellius and Rondo face the oncoming snake. The sewers too narrow for more than two of the party to fight at the same time. A short but viscous combat ensues. The cramped conditions hinder the use of larger weapons. Rondo looks to be enveloped by the snake when Lucien seizes the opportunity to strike past Rondo and sinks his dagger deep into the scaly hide. The creature tries to flee but Rondo is vindictive spite lunges forward and grabs the tail of the creature. He his armour is all that saves him from a couple of frenzied strikes from the snake before Tellius all but severs it's head.
